The new appointee assumes the role of studio head at 31st Union following the departure of former leader Michael Condrey, who was reportedly let go due to Project Ethos' underwhelming early showing last fall.
Recently, 2K president a key figure notified employees about this organizational change through an internal memo, which highlighted that early feedback sessions had revealed the need for a more defined game identity.
Ismailer expressed that the developers is now reimagining Project Ethos with a refreshed approach, aiming to address gamer demands.

This announcement follows a comparable step taken by 2K Games in August, when they recruited Rod Fergusson from the Diablo team to assist with the beloved franchise development group.

The community feedback from last fall’s Project ETHOS demo was informative. It confirmed the potential of a action-packed game but made clear we still had work to do. It highlighted the requirement for a clearer vision.
It has been motivating to see how far you’ve advanced. You accepted the feedback to consideration and reimagined the title with a renewed direction - one that’s positioned to achieve its ambition to our fans.
The trust in Project ETHOS increases every day. To advance the remarkable development you’ve made, I’m excited to announce Ben Brinkman as the incoming Director of the team. After a period of talks, Ben officially joins us on next week.
Ben’s management and background in the PVP shooter field is considerable, having dedicated the recent years creating and leading some of the most well-known series in gaming, including the acclaimed shooter, and most recently, the battle royale hit.
